What Is Automatic Rice Husker
A rice huller or rice husker is an agricultural machine used to automate the process of removing the chaff (the outer husks) of grains of rice. Throughout history, there have been numerous techniques to hull rice. Traditionally, it would be pounded using some form of mortar and pestle. An early simple machine to do this is a rice pounder. Later even more efficient machinery was developed to hull and polish rice. These machines are most widely developed and used throughout Asia.
After harvesting rice, unhulled rice is harvested by rice combine harvesters. Combine harvesters will separate rice from its stem.
After packing the unhulled rice in grain bags, it will be hulled by a rice huller. A rice huller removes rice husks (chaffs) and other foreign substances. Brown rice will be proccessed by rice hullers.
Then, brown rice will be polished by polishing machines and the bran will be removed.

Working Mode of Automatic Rice Husker
An automatic rice husker consists of five main components: the feeding mechanism, hulling device, driving and tensioning mechanism, intelligent control system, and air separating device.
Intelligent Digital Vibration Feeding Mechanism:
The vibration feeding mechanism uses high-frequency (50 times/second) and low-amplitude (1.5–2.5 mm) vibrations to ensure that the thickness of the rice layer flowing into the long drip plate is uniform. This helps maintain a consistent material layer thickness across the entire length of the cots.
The long drip plate serves two functions:
1.Acceleration: It accelerates the material to the optimal speed before it enters the rubber roller and ensures that the material is thinned out, maintaining a single layer as it enters the roller.
2.Rectification: It aligns the rice in an orderly manner along the length of the cots, which improves the husking rate and reduces the rate of broken rice.
Rubber Roller:
Rubber rollers are consumable components that wear out over time. The wear rate can vary, and adjustments may be needed to account for differences in roller speed. The rigidity of the rubber roller's supporting structure is crucial for its mechanical properties and processing performance. The rice husker features a patented auxiliary supporting structure for the rubber rollers, which improves the reliability of the dual rubber rollers.
Innovative Drive and Tensioning Mechanism:
The automatic rice husker uses a synchronous belt drive structure, with the belt tensioned by a pulley spring. This setup ensures low noise, stable transmission ratios, and eliminates belt slippage. The multi-wedge belt drive system provides high transmission efficiency and operates at a low noise level (less than 80 dB).
Different Uses:
Automatic Rice Husker: The primary purpose of an automatic rice husker is to remove the husk from rice grains while minimizing damage to the rice and preserving the integrity of the brown rice. It focuses on peeling off the outer layer (husk) and keeping the brown rice as intact as possible. Design and Fabrication of Automatic Rice Husker
Rice is one of the most important cereal crop in the world. The design and performance evaluation of automatic rice husker fabricated for removing chaffs from paddy rice as the consumer's demand for rice requires the most hygienic, easy and less time consuming process.
The design was segmented into the hopper and housing (processing) unit, the frame support and the power transmission unit. The housing unit consists of the upper and lower body where the sieve, hulling blade and cylinder is enclosed. The machine is powered by a 3.0 H.P. 950 rpm electric motor via a V-belt mechanism which deliverers the power requirement to the shaft on which the hulling cylinder is mounted. The hulling cylinder presses the paddy rice against the hulling blade to remove the chaff.
The paddy rice is fed into the housing unit for processing through the machine hopper. The probability failure of the machine during loading has been minimized by proper material selection and using a factor of safety of 4 in the design process. The machine was designed to process about 8 kg of rice for small scale production. Performance evaluation of the machine shows that its efficiency is within the range of 83 to 88%, the hulling capacity is within the range of 22 to 25 kg/h and the maximum efficiency is at 5 kg paddy rice hopper loading which is about 60% of the hoppers' volume.
